Dress is a women’s specialty store located in Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood that offers carefully curated designer clothing, accessories, handbags, footwear, fragrances, home goods, and more. The store opened in 2005 and has since expanded its footprint online.

In April 2018, Martha and Jane, the effusive owners and founders (and everything in between), decided it was time to invest in an outbound marketing approach to boost their online traffic and ecommerce sales.

The Challenge

Dress, despite having a loyal customer base and a thriving physical business, was struggling to see consistent growth in the digital space. Specific challenges included:

  • A limited awareness in individuals outside of their customer base
  • Unsure how to reach a larger audience outside of the Greater Boston area
  • Digital acquisition channels not living up to expectations
  • Email was a profitable channel, but revenue was not growing fast enough
  • A lack of metrics due to minimal tracking and data collection resulted in questions about digital performance

The Solution

Following a complete audit of Dress’ digital channels that surfaced opportunities for improvement, we launched a four-month project in which we:

  • Made on-page improvements to simplify the consumer experience
  • Elevated email subscription opportunities to drive list growth
  • Launched new social advertising campaigns to a highly targeted and locally relevant audience
  • Implemented advanced tracking and reporting tactics to better measure results and generate insights
